That works, he thought. Well, four months later, he was working at it full-time and paying all his bills. After a few pretty groovy years like this, income rising every year, building a great portfolio and living a free and flexible lifestyle most would kill for, he said, “Whoa. This is a pretty cool life. Too good to keep a secret.” So he wrote (and self-published) a few books on the subject – in 2000 and 2004 – that earned him some pretty nice recognition.

And incidentally, in 2006, building on his self-publishing success with his first two books (i.e., 50,000 copies in print and a full-time living for five-plus years at that point), he self-published his third book, outlining in exhaustive detail exactly how he pulled that off.

In May 2002, he launched a free monthly ezine, THE WELL-FED E-PUB (with a nifty menu format), which keeps his readers happily stuffed full of information and inspiration. And raving. Big time. And this budding little empire kept growing. He started doing seminars, which spawned a pretty slick 6-CD program. Then, he started doing teleseminars, which spawned teleseminar CDs of their own. And for all those folks looking for a little guidance getting their writing businesses going, he started his one-on-one paid mentoring service (also available for those self-publishing their magnum opi…).
